Many bands completely miss the playful meaning of the expression “playing music.” Not so for Durry, whose two members (a brother and sister from Minnesota) seem to very much enjoy their craft – creating a lively and sparkling mood that they convey to their audience. Austin (also a musician with Coyote Kid for about a decade) and Taryn Durry, a dynamic indie-rock duo, broke through in 2021 with the song Who’s Laughing Now, born from a desire to escape and lift our spirits during the pandemic. Since then, we’ve had the chance to listen to their very first album, Suburban Legend, released last September, which continues this electric and joyful atmosphere. On stage, the duo becomes a quartet with Dane Hoppe on drums and Austin’s wife, Ashley, on bass.
