Smonal is a mix of beatmaking, vocals, rhythm, chords and samples, all brought together in a machine operated by a 17-year-old. My musical work is essentially voice-based. Using my loopstation, I record beatbox or vocals, which are then looped and modified using modulation effects, to create live tracks from start to finish based on my vocal chords. I discovered and actively started beatboxing during lockdown, and later got my first loopstation for my 14th birthday in 2021. I listen mainly to EDM or rock, from which I draw inspiration for my compositions, while adding my vocal and artistic touches.
