INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY

Making our festival accessible to all audiences, in all their diversity, has always been one of our commitments. To achieve this, the festival is supported by the expertise of APF France Handicap, the largest French association for the defense and representation of people with disabilities and their families.

INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY

Rock en Seine welcomes several hundred disabled festival-goers and their companions. From its genisis, the festival has offered a technical and human service dedicated to disabled festival-goers.

Once again this year, the festival is supported by the expertise of the APF France Handicap association. Designing an inclusive festival means addressing a range of issues at every stage of production: recruitment, welcoming the public, programming, raising awareness…
Practical information specific to accessibility and aimed at festival-goers with disabilities will be put online in the practical info section before the summer (in the meantime, you can contact us at accessibilite@rockenseine.com).

As part of its commitment to an inclusive festival, Rock en Seine, in partnership with Unadev, has produced a video presenting its accessibility features. In order to do so, we were assisted by a French sign language translator and a company specializing in audiodescription, so as to reach as many people as possible.

Video produced and edited by Théotime Massard. Audiodescription by Le Cinéma Parle. LSF translation by Vouloir Dire thanks to our partner APF France Handicap.

  • A dedicated welcome/information point, where a team of 40 trained volunteers will welcome and accompany festival-goers with disabilities, and provide them with information materials detailing the measures deployed. An LSF interpreter will also be on hand.
  • Beneficiaries of the AAH (Allocation Adulte Handicapé – Disabled Adult Allowance) have access to the reduced rate (subject to availability).
  • In the run-up to the event, a dedicated mailbox (accessibilite@rockenseine.com) will enable disabled festival-goers to prepare their visit in a personalized manner.
  • Because the website is the first point of contact with festival-goers, since April 2023 we have integrated the Facil’Iti tool (available in the top right-hand corner of the site) so that every user can adapt the site to their needs. This digital accessibility device is available thanks to our sponsors, whom we thank for their support.
  • The reduced rate now applies to holders of the Mobilité Inclusion Invalidité card, as well as to accompanying persons.
  • In July 2024, the festival’s production and hospitality teams received training in disability and accessibility from APF France Handicap.
  • 4 accessibility platforms near the main stages equipped with magnetic loops
  • PRM-adapted toilets
  • Wheelchair-height counters at all bars and cashless counters throughout the festival.
  • A dedicated parking lot free of charge for PRMs on request, within the limits of available spaces and up to 24 hours before the date of arrival, by contacting accessibilite@rockenseine.com.
  • An emergency wheelchair repair kit is available, as is a wheelchair loan service if required.
  • People who find it difficult to stand for long periods are allowed to bring a folding chair to the festival.

The Domaine national de Saint-Cloud is currently undergoing a renovation of its walkways. This large-scale project, driven by Rock en Seine, involved repairing a substantial part of the pathways in the lower park, which were particularly dilapidated. More than 2,100 meters of pathway have been rehabilitated, making the site more accessible to people with reduced mobility, not only for the duration of the festival, but also all year round for visitors to the Domaine.

With the support of Inclusiv’Events, wheelchair access signs will be installed in certain areas.

  • Magnetic loops on all festival stages.
  • An LSF (Langue des Signes Française = french sign language) interpreter on site for all Talks.
  • 5 vibrating vests are available at the accessibility desk for use at concerts on the Bosquet stage.

The Gossip concert will be fully translated into LSF (Langue de Signes Française= french sign language). See you on Thursday 22nd August !

  • Essential festival documents (map, program, practical information) are published in relief, Braille, large print and French for all.
  • Guide dogs are welcome at the festival.
  • “Souffleurs d’images” will be introduced at the festival thanks to the Souffleurs de sens association, which advocates human mediation adapted to the needs of the public. The Souffleurs d’Images service offers blind and partially-sighted people access to the cultural event of their choice, whenever they wish. A trained volunteer prompter describes and blows the invisible elements into the viewer’s ear. To book an experience, please contact the festival teams at accessibilite@rockenseine.com or go directly to the accessibility desk when you come to the festival.
  • Site signage will be improved to accommodate the visually impaired.
  • All main information materials in French for all.

Social break areas will be created and designed for people with mental and psychic disabilities.

As part of the “Cultural Olympiad” label awarded to part of its program, Rock en Seine has developed a range of content highlighting the values of inclusion and accessibility.

  • On Friday 23rd August, the artist Thomas de Pourquery will perform an exclusive creation, accompanied for a few tracks by an inclusive choir made up of singers from the Radio France Choir and five amateur choirs made up of people with disabilities.
  • A space dedicated to Paralympic sports will be set up at the festival, where members of disabled sports federations will share with festival-goers the values and practices of adapted sport: Fair Play.
  • Artivist The Blind will be given carte blanche to create an interactive art installation bearing a message in Braille.
